Jenny Ochoa is a singer songwriter from Long Beach California who found her voice on the island of Oahu. She wrote her first song on the guitar in December of 2021 after moving to the island. She has now built a career around her love for music. She started off as a waitress at Blue Note Hawaii in 2022 which lead her to discover so many artists that inspired a spark that refused to die. That maybe there’s room for a storyteller like Jenny to enter the world of music. She now sings for couples all over the island for proposals, anniversaries and elopements. Singing both covers and originals to tell a story about love.

Prior to moving to the island she was never much of a singer.. Like at all. But most definitely was a poet. One time in middle school she won a $500 grand prize award for a poem she wrote. She took her family for all you can eat pizza that night and it planted a seed in her so deep. That she could feed her family off of her words! Since that day, she turned to poetry any chance she got. Wrote lyrics to songs she could only hear in her head. Incorporated poetry with her online clothing boutique. The list goes on and on. As for the guitar, she started learning from her father at age 7. She picked it up again when he surprised her with her first guitar on her 14th birthday. Bought from a pawn shop in Long Beach of course. She learned her first covers during her teenage years but never sang any of them. Just played when she was feeling blue. She credits the Hawaiian islands and the local music community to awakening up her voice. She sees her journey as a dying flower repotted in the Hawaiian islands, where the land and its artists breathed life back into her voice. Local artists became the mirror for her artistic self discovery and for that she’s forever grateful.

Jenny pours her soul into every story she sings. Her voice carries because she knows the power a light has in the dark. When the message is lost, she finds it. She knows that value having been hidden for so long, and when she sings she’s speaking everyone’s language — dreamy, and timeless.
